Rising Star Fay Pansringarm founded the Rising Star Dance Studio in 1996 as a place where people of all ages and nationalities can enjoy studying dance. Fay and several carefully chosen instructors teach in a way that encourages students to develop both technique and artistic expression. We believe that the study of dance can be both strenuous and relaxing, hard work yet joyous. Ballet provides the finest foundation forall styles of dance and movement and this is both Mrs. Fay’s and Yuko Nakamura’s passion in life.
We begin teaching children as young as three years old. These pre-ballet classes teach children the basics of stretch, strength building, co-ordination, musicality, rhythm, and expression. These classes are taught with the understanding of a young child’s physical limitations and attention span. In other words, we make it fun for kids while we impart the secrets!
Rising Star Dance Studio teaches in the American style, a blend of many international styles, that stresses movement, expressiveness and theatricality while being true to one’s own anatomy. Students progress to the next level as the teacher feels they are ready. Therefore, children who begin dancing when they are older, are often able to “catch up” to students their own age in a fairly short time. This is especially important for our adult students. So many people wish they had had the opportunity to start dancing as children and just don’t realize that one can start dancing at any age.
