Bangkok, Thailand (10 August 2018) The pastry chefs at The Okura Prestige Bangkok are serving up sweet and savoury treats with the Autumn Afternoon Tea at Up & Above Bar. From October through November patrons can enjoy sweet delights that include orange blossom themed macarons, melon crème, pomegranate truffle, apple tarte tatin, chocolate kumquat sacher, kabucha pumpkin gateaux, petit daifuku, and chocolate orange scone. On the savoury side are toothsome bites such as ricotta tartine, avocado, smoked salmon and grapefruit zest, marinated prawns with tomato and blood orange jelly, mini brioche with duck rillettes and orange and brie with kumquat on rye. These moreish offerings pair beautifully with a cup of rich illy coffee or freshly brewed premium Saro and Thé Sur Le Nil tea from Mariage Frères, which has lovely citrus notes.
The Autumn Afternoon Tea is available from 1 October – 30 November 2018, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. daily at Up & Above Bar. Priced from Baht 1,190++ inclusive of premium coffee or tea for 2 persons.
